Partiality is the preference we show to some people, and the exclusion of others, based on outward appearance. Sadly, this plays out in many ways--partiality for race, for beauty, for popularity, and for socio-economic status. We fall into the trap of using the people around us for our own advancement. But that’s not at all what the church should look like.

This week we dive further into the book of James, which tells us that we are invited to live in a new reality as God’s children. We are to be a picture of unity amid diversity...in other words, a very real picture of the kingdom of heaven.
