Why City Groups?
Every church exists to make disciples who will Glorify God with their lives. This includes those far from God coming to know him and those who already know him learning to live lives of love and worship. At Rise our vision is for people to experience God & lead lives that matter.
In our City Groups we want people to Experience God’s Family. There is something unique about a small group of people who gather together to love each other. This encounter both draws those far from God as they taste this rare quality; and fans the flame of the believer, as their faith burns hotter and hotter. Deep relationships should be common place among city groups.
Secondly, it is in these city groups we stir up one another to love and good works through living gospel lives together. Gospel lives go deeper than water-cooler talks. Gospel lives exhort, convict, challenge, encourage, laugh, cry and celebrate together. It is when the truth of the gospel takes root in our lives, and we begin to bear the fruit of that life change.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
