THIS IS WAR | Part 03

This is my last article in a series on prayer that strategically aims for our faith to become more effective.

And today it’s all about love.

Many of us might already believe that love is more than an emotion, that love is shown in action. We believe that our faith shows itself in our deeds of love.

We therefore might think that love is not something we need to pray for, but that we must do.

But in fact, while love is shown in our actions, it is still something that we need to receive from God. And a lack of prayer for more love in our hearts and our actions will have the result of a lack of the measure of love that God can indeed pour out on our churches.

Consider this prayer:

Philippians 1:9

"And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, ...“

Paul prays for more love in the church! He does not simply tell the church to love one another, but he prays that God would provide more love.

More and more!

This shows a principle that has become very real in my life, and that is best summarized by James:

James 4:2

"You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask.“

If we experience a lack of love in our church and our home, or even if we have love, but know there can be even more, we must pray for more love!

How often have you found yourself to be unloving and sought the solution in simply "trying harder“ ?

I strongly encourage you to start praying for more and more love.

Alongside the other prayers that I have talked about in this series, I hope this will enrich your spiritual life beyond measures.
