Introducing: Embrace

Introducing: Embrace

We have a new Team at Rise called EMBRACE. This team is specifically created to wrap around children and families in the Foster, Adoptive and Special needs communities.

Our heart and goal is incredibly simple - we want to embrace these specific families with tangible support and love.

This ministry was born out of years of walking the hard road of parenting children coming from hard places and those who needed extra support.

Our families are battle-worn, they fight and advocate within systems that are not built to really understand our children.

They face discouragement when their friends don’t quite understand what they are going through.

Our families at times walk in some of the deepest grief there is, they choose in brokenness to continue on and find creative ways to meet their children’s needs, often setting aside their own needs in the name of survival.

These families are sometimes out of words, they want and need support but they are unable to find the strength to explain it all again.

This is where God does some of His best work! His incredible power and love work through His people!

In Exodus 17 Moses finds himself emotionally and physically DONE and drained yet a battle is upon God’s people.

So Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on the hilltop with the staff of God in my hand.” 10 Joshua did as Moses had instructed him and fought against the Amalekites, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, Israel prevailed; but when he lowered them, Amalek prevailed. When Moses’ hands grew heavy, they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. Then Aaron and Hur held his hands up, one on each side, so that his hands remained steady until the sun went down So Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his army with the sword.  EXODUS 17:9-12
