Kylie - Missions Update
On January 6th we reached out our hands and hearts and asked God to bless Kylie Dunlap as she left on a six-month mission trip to Papalote, Mexico to serve a small community, help build, and learn at a local seminary. She has let us know what God is doing in and through her, and we want to share with you.
Since being down there Kylie has had a huge learning curve. She realized her Spanish is in need of some help, but luckily she has been listening to the locals and is beginning to pick up on some of the common language and dialect.
In the first week there she traveled to Valle de Las Palmas (200 miles from the border) to deliver a hospital bed to an elderly woman in need. Her missionary group has been serving the local seminary by removing termite-infested areas, roofing, and put in new tiles into a small apartment, and doing a lot of painting.
Kylie’s days start with an 8am meeting every morning. She then works on projects during the day and takes seminary classes in the evening. As with any missionary entering a new field she is mentally drained but is ready for the work ahead. She is loving working with the kids in the community and learning from them.
In Kylie’s last message she said this,
“I am having a lot of fun and enjoying so many different things about being here in Papalote and I want to say thank you so much for all of you who have been praying, keeping me in your thoughts, etc. I really feel the love and I will say again that I would not be as strong as I am if it weren't for you all.”
Keep Kylie in your thoughts and prayers, and keep your eyes open for her next update!
